Welcome to ByHearth. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of our website and live-in care services. By accessing our website or engaging our services, you agree to these Terms.
Our Services
ByHearth provides live-in care services for seniors and individuals who need assistance with daily activities. Our caregivers provide:
- Personal care assistance (bathing, dressing, grooming)
- Medication management and reminders
- Meal preparation and feeding support
- Housekeeping and laundry
- Transportation to medical appointments
- Companionship and social engagement
- Specialized care for dementia and Alzheimer's
Service Agreement
Care Assessment
Before services begin, we conduct a free assessment to understand your loved one's needs, preferences, and care requirements. This assessment helps us match you with an appropriate caregiver.
Care Plan
Based on the assessment, we create a personalized care plan outlining daily routines, medical needs, preferences, and specific requirements. This plan is reviewed and approved by your family before care begins.
Service Commencement
Services begin once the care plan is agreed upon and a service agreement is signed. We will introduce you to your matched caregiver and arrange a meet-and-greet if desired.
Pricing and Payment
Our live-in care services are offered in two tiers:
- Standard Live-In Care: $250 per day for those who need minimal assistance
- Enhanced Live-In Care: Custom pricing for those requiring more hands-on support
Standard pricing: $1,750 per week or $7,000 per month. Enhanced pricing is determined based on specific care needs during our free consultation.
Payment is due weekly in advance. We accept major credit cards and bank transfers. A minimum two-week commitment is required to begin services.
Caregiver Placement
We carefully vet and match caregivers based on experience, qualifications, personality, and compatibility. While we make every effort to maintain consistent caregiver placement, we cannot guarantee a specific caregiver will remain with your family indefinitely.
Cancellation Policy
Initial Period
The first two weeks of service are considered a trial period. Either party may terminate services during this time with 48 hours notice.
After Initial Period
After the trial period, services may be cancelled with 14 days written notice. No refunds are provided for days already rendered.
Emergency Termination
We reserve the right to terminate services immediately if our caregiver's safety is at risk or if the care recipient's behavior makes continued care impossible.
Caregiver Care and Responsibilities
To ensure quality care and caregiver well-being:
- Caregivers require a private bedroom and adequate living space
- Meals are provided by the care recipient's household
- Caregivers work a maximum of 10-12 hours per day with adequate rest periods
- Caregivers are entitled to reasonable break times throughout the day
Liability
Care Services
ByHearth is not a licensed medical provider. Our caregivers provide non-medical companionship and assistance with daily living activities. We do not provide skilled nursing care.
Injury or Illness
ByHearth is not liable for injuries, illnesses, or medical emergencies that occur on the care recipient's premises, except in cases of gross negligence by our employed caregivers.
Property Damage
ByHearth is not liable for damage to property unless caused directly by caregiver negligence. Care recipients should maintain appropriate homeowner's or renter's insurance.
Insurance
ByHearth maintains general liability insurance coverage. Care recipients are encouraged to maintain appropriate home insurance coverage.

Modifications to Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of our services constitutes acceptance of updated Terms.
